Microsoft Teams is an online collaboration tool that allows co-workers to chat, work, meet and call in the one place.

As it is still new to the market, users are still getting the hang of the product. We’ve done a breakdown to give you some hints and tips to getting the most of the software.

Teams allows users to chat from anywhere – desktop or mobile – to their colleagues. When it comes to conference calls up to 10,000 people can be on one call.

This program also allows for real time editing in Word, Excel or PowerPoint where users can see what others are working on.

Both PC and Mac users can download this software on their desktop or mobile devices.

Microsoft Teams is spilt into five different sections which are: Activity, Chat, Teams, Meetings and Files.

  1. Activity – shows users what the other members in the Team are working on and gives them the ability to interact
  2. Chat – Chat is fairly straightforward, it’s where users can communicate directly with their co-workers. Skype for Business is also incorporated within this feature.
  3. Teams – This shows all the different workspaces you are a part of. This section has additional tabs which are conversations, files, notes, OneNote, planner, Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Connectors.
  4. Meetings – Users are able to schedule meetings with colleagues through the integration of the Exchange Calendar. Users will also see all their upcoming meetings within this tab.
  5. Files – This shows a user all the files they are working on in their allocated Teams.
